Groundbreaking Consciousness Theory By CPU Inventor | Federico Faggin & Bernardo Kastrup
A new theory of consciousness proposes that qualia -- for instance, the scent of a rose -- reside in quantum fields.
Federico Faggin is one of the greatest luminaries of high technology alive today. A physicist by education, he is the inventor of the microprocessor and the MOS silicon gate technology, both of which underlie the modern world's entire information technology. With the knowledge and experience of a lifetime in cutting-edge fields, Federico now turns his attention to consciousness and the nature of reality, sharing with us his profound insights on the classical and quantum worlds, artificial intelligence, life and the human mind. In this discussion, he elaborates on an idealist model of reality, produced after years of careful thought and direct experience, according to which nature's most fundamental level is that of consciousness as a quantum phenomenon, while the classical physical world consists merely of evocative symbols of a deeper reality.

What happens to consciousness when clocks stop? | Bernard Carr & Bernardo Kastrup
Переглядів 183 тис.Місяць тому
Hans Busstra sat down with Bernard Carr and Bernardo Kastrup to discuss all presentations given at our 'Time and Mind' conference and elaborate further on their own ideas. For instance, both Carr and Kastrup agree that, if you take an idealist perspective, you need multiple time dimensions to account for the decomposition problem: the mechanism by which consciousness with a big ‘C’ resolves its...

This is day 2 of Essentia’s Time and Mind conference, our scientific discussion of the profound mystery of the passage of time and how it relates to consciousness. Many physicists maintain that the passage of time is purely a feature of mind, beyond physics itself, while others argue that it points to some new physical paradigm, perhaps associated with the marriage of relativity theory and quan...
Time & Mind: Was Einstein Wrong About Time?

The role of time in mainstream physics-as it arises in Newtonian theory, relativity theory, quantum theory, and the 2nd law of thermodynamics-is relatively well understood. However, there is a profound mystery concerning the passage of time associated with consciousness. Many physicists maintain that this passage is purely a feature of mind, going beyond physics itself, while others argue that ...

Very good interview, even though he kept interrupting her and tried to control the interview. After watching dozens and dozens and dozens of videos and documentaries on NDE's, I must say that the things experienced out of body, that solidifies the reality, for me, is when the experiencers talk about detailed conversations their loved ones were having way down the hall, that were later verified. I remember one experience, this woman said, as she was leaving the hospital, in her out-of-body experience, that she saw a shoe on the roof, which was later verified, and it should also be noted, that women stayed in a room on the other side of the hospital, so no way she saw it from her window. Experiences like these, and so many more, leave me speechless and 100% sure of the velocity of said experiences.

The brain is not only a complex "biochemical" machine, it is also a transmitter and receiver antenna of realities that go far beyond physical reality. The brain is part of a "hyperrealistic metauniverse" it is part of this complex interdimensional mirror and a universal cosmic program of life, not only on this planet. The brain is one more piece of that complex mirror of the cosmic fractal hologram. Our consciousness is also part of that universe that is out there, it is part of the universe.

54:23 "How can your theory lead to breakthrough technologies?" "Why...?" "I think this theory (leads?) to better people, people that can live together better, they have more fun, they can know themselves." "...cooperate instead of competing." *Soul Travel* is a "technology" as taught by the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master to accomplish the above and more. It requires no equipment other than the equipment we already have: the human package...perhaps it works by a process of subtraction: letting go of limitations of mind and emotions, returning closer and closer to pure consciousness?

Indeed, consciousness is fundamental and quantum measurement/observation is secondary. This implies 'cosmic consciousness' as the ultimate fundamental state from which everything emerges.

The big bang theory would suggest a creator of some kind, yes? If no, then why? If we disprove the big bang theory, then it would suggest a simulation, yes? But not only that, what created the simulation? Our meaning (if any) is to procreate and experience as much as possible. Some say we're all the same consciousness experiencing everything possible and that this is heaven, or the equivalent. Others say that life is meaningless and and when we die, that's it. I find that extremely negative and believe the simple things in life actually teach us why we're here. Loved this discussion.

If nothing else the AI generated voice 'interviewer' demonstrates the difference between the human experience and that of a computer. No qualia there! This man has developed a very important theory that explains why emotion and consciousness experience are indescribable outside of the realm of consciousness. I've not read his book yet but will do so. His humanity inspires and his ideas along with those of Iain McGilchrist and Roger Penrose lead the way to a new vision of life and its meaning. Let's make a better world than the spiritually impoverished one we've inherited

All thoughts have a 'pre-thought'. It's like your brain is saying: "Is this what you want to do? You have a fraction of a second to change things. You can still do it, or you can finish the thought. This all happens in about 1.30th of a second. About the same as a movie frame.

Microprocessors, soc, deep chilled quantum computers will never be able to experience “qualia” . Because like the great minds have said, consciousness is non computational. It also appears that consciousness may be an exclusively complex organic phenomenon. Encoded within the fabric of what know to be reality. We may not have access to it.. No sudo here.

💫👁I got the book and it's amazing, I recommend it to anyone who is watching this video. It's understandable without any scientific background. It gives a comprehensive history of scientific developments that have lead to the view that consciousness is a product of the brain that is understandable on 'how we got to here'. Federico gives his own insights on consciousness and free will as fundamental properties of existence in the context of our knowledge of quantum physics. The book is scientifically grounded, but ultimately it reads to me as a deeply spiritual book. In Tibetan Bön and Buddhism, the path follows the steps of View, Meditation, Action and Fruition, where in some paths, view is the most important foundation, and involves understanding the nature of yourself and all existence. This book is very much about establishing the view that we live in a non-dual existence and universe as the wisdom traditions have always been saying, ( and Federico acknowledges ). Federico shares his personal experience of awakening, and how that experience and his understanding that free will and consciousness are fundamental properties of all existence, and that we ourselves, are conscious fields inhabiting bodies, not our bodies themselves, and therefore will continue to exist after bodily death. Beyond the view, Federico shares, how living with it has enriches his life, as it restores meaning and purpose to ourselves and our existence, stripped away by the materialst view of the universe. I can't encourage the book more, for anyone who is scientifically interested, spiritually oriented, is interested or concerned about AI and computer consciousness ( a big part of the book ), or wonders about the big questions about the meaning of life, existence, purpose, and whether we have our own agency and free will, or are living out a predetermined existence. I would like to find a place a to have a discussion forum around the book, but for now am so glad to see a lot of interest in these ideas here. Once anyone has given it a read, please share your thoughts here, I'm very eager to talk about it with other people interested in these ideas.

To Waste Existence I wonder, what shall become waste within human entities? As, said entities seek simplistic existence, what shall such, attempt to be? What shall become of thee? For, I wonder is waste, tethered to that of reality? Does that which the human create, simply exist as, waste? For, I wonder, does the simplicity of an artificial existence, lead only to senseless accumulation? To the human, existing absent why, whilst tethering oneself to creation. For, in truth, may we simply be beings of nature? To take oneself from such, may not only disrupt, but, of course, irrevocably alter the way which the human seeks. For, that which exist as artificial, in truth, simply externalizes that of the organism. Meaning, it would seem the human, simply seeks, itself. Rationalizing ways to exist tethered to the human, whilst claiming said existence is tethered to externalities. For, that of competition, is a simple internal existence, relating to that of the organisms, reproductive intention. For, each entity exist tethered to "Winning". Being, that which exist as a zygote. The forming of an entity, now tethered to being. Tethered, to the simplicity of, that which exist as, existence itself. That of replication. That which drives survival, and, procreation. Simply to exist, externally. To be that which is simply able to be. For, within that of competition, as it relates to the external. There seems to be three forms which, human entities continously exist tethered. The first, I would simply deem, "Full Cycle". Within that of the "Full Cycle", that which represents the phallic system takes the form of, the arm, the leg, the club, the bat, the hockey stick. Each existing tethered to, that of a deliver system. That which propels, semen as it attempts to reach the egg. Such an existence is represented, within that of the, ball, the goal, the net. The moment where procreation is actualized, and, existence begins. The second form of externalizing internal reproductive intention, one deems simply, the "Race" stage. Within such, there is only a race to exist as number one. The simplicity of being first. Such an existence is plainly seen within, of course, racing. That of nascar, track. That of, swimming, a marathon. Each existing tethered to the simplicity of being dynamic beings, seeking only to be first. To be that which moves, simply to be that which, exist. The third stage of externalizing, that which exist as internal, relating to that of the organism. Is, of course, existence itself. Within, that of the "Existence" stage, said organism seeks simplistic violence. For, there can only the one. One tethered to being. One able to exist, within, that of the egg. Such an existence was seen plainly in the, coliseum. Where as, gladiators fought to be beings. To be that which, draws breath. To be tethered to, existence. Of course one sees such, within, that of, fighting. That of war, the simplicity of conflict. Each and every combat situation essentially exist in such a way. As to create, the simplicity, of existence. I wonder, since such is tethered to actuality, what truly does the human, create? How is such an existence not tethered to waste, if, within such, be not, even a human mind? Not even the ability to exist as such a kind. For, of course, each human entity tethered to creating such realities, knew not of, why. For, all deem such to be apart of, human life. To be, that which matters. But, of course, such could never matter. Could never be, that which one deems, not only substantive, but, tethered to that of rationality. For, I deem all that exist, absent a mind. Absent, simplistic contemplation leading to immense comprehension, to be tethered to, nothing. Nothing but, uselessness. Nothing but, senseless ascension. Nothing but, a, wasteful, existence...

It’s almost impossible to argue with a materialist as they come at the issue with a priori “knowledge” that consciousness isn’t actually a thing. They never explain it computers have it or not, they typically say no, which means they intuitively know they are lying to themselves. They differentiate it and talk about it and draw conclusions…..that it’s no different than anything else, but at the same time claim we are different but it’s only physical, so what is IT?

The Buddhist academic Alan Wallace has created a center of consciousness studies and is a huge advocate of the study of introspection - and has demonstrated many of the concepts expressed here - and that people have been “meditating” out of the bounds of time and space for 1500+ years - the body isn’t even “you” and where is this “consciousness” that seems to reside within it!?

7:03 Understand the co existence of the form and the formless. There is order in everything other than Homo sapiens. Because we have to know the life atom or sentient atom or the soul or spirit which is the building block.

Isn't this all information we already knew? I'd like to know where consciousness goes exactly after death? Does it pick up another drone to inhabit or merges with the source? Is there a choice to keep inhabiting drones or are we forced to continue the cycle?
